Altering Bridal or ready-to-wear is a highly skilled and technical art. It's a skill which a good Bridal seamstress has practiced for many years. Bridal wear is constructed in unique ways using expensive fabrics and should NOT be altered by an inexperienced or hobby seamstress.
Bridal Alterations are usually a little more expensive than normal alterations due to the technicality of the alteration. On your Special Day you don't want to accept less than professional quality.
Before choosing a wedding gown you need to keep in mind that sometimes the smallest alteration can create that perfect fit.
So much is possible. Sleeves can be removed or added, necklines can be changed and trains can be shortened. Sometimes a minor alteration can ultimately save you hundreds if you are careful in choosing the design of your wedding gown.
In today's economy we are all trying to watch our wallets so by remodeling an already existing gown or changing a newly purchased one alot of the time we are able to utilize the garment again. Your dress can be changed into a cocktail dress, or, bodice and skirt. As well, trains can be re sewn into christening gowns or even elaborate table cloths. These are just a few remodeling techniques.
Enhancements are one of my favourite additions. By adding a little padding to the bust you are able to achieve that hour glass shape every girl dreams of on her wedding day. Even if you don't have the perfect undergarment there are always options. Sew in bras or cups can be added to give that extra support we all need.
"There is always a way to achieve that which you can imagine."
